If you want you can contact us about several ways to drive to Croatia / Dalmatia. We can inform you about the fastest route (see Access Route) or an interesting touristic access route with overnight possibilities. Especially in Croatia are still many opportunities for extremely interesting sights. To give an example: Castle Trakosan between Kutina and Varazdin (Croatia and Slovenia border) is fantastic as are the waterfalls between the lakes of Plitvice. A very impressive canyon you will find between Jayce and Donji Vakuf in Bosnia.
After an overnight stop in southern Germany or Austria you'll arrive relaxed after a pleasant trip by car through very interesting places. Nowadays the whole route is highway, just a little piece in Slovenia is with 2 lanes. Shortest route is via Cologne, Frankfurt, Nurnberg, Munchen, Salzburg, Ljubljana , Zagreb to Trogir. In our experienc it is less traffic and faster to drive from Arnhem via Oberhausen, Dortmund, Siegen, Wurzburg, Neurenberg, Passau, Graz, Maribor to Zagreb. From Zagreb you take the A1 in direction Split, passing Karlovac, Gospic, Zadar, Sibenik and leaving the highway at PRGOMET. Via Plano you reach a big crossing with traffic lights where you turn right in direction Sibenik. After about 7 km. you reach SEGET VRANJICA. At some little shops on the left side you turn left and keep right till a little square with small supermarket. There you make a sharp turn to the right, down to the harbour where you turn left along the sea passing a narrow piece till the end. There you go about 15 m. high and follow the road till you reach nr. 32.
At www.croatian-adriatic.eu/dalmatia/ you will find much information about alternative route's, about prices of toll in Austria, Slovenia and Croatia, about gasoline prices etc.
